For the past month, we've been working to improve Reliable Teacher Hagwon Review, a website that allows teachers to review and rate English hagwons in South Korea.
A hagwon is a for-profit enrichment school that many kids in Korea attend after school. They have hagwons for all sorts of subjects, and English hagwons are one of the most popular types. As you can guess, it's part of an education system that favors the wealthy, and a great deal of money is poured into the industry. This, in turn, attracts thousands of teachers from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and other English-speaking countries. The goal of Hagwon Review is to provide these teachers with accurate information on the numerous English hagwons (some are quite unscrupulous). Our goal is to compile a comprehensive collection of reviews & ratings and to grow the directory to accomodate as many hagwons as possible. We're pretty excited about how much the site has improved in just the past few weeks, and we've received encouraging feedback from our users. We're pleased to announce the launch of a new site for The Golandsky Institute, a non-profit organization that teaches the Taubman Approach and helps pianists overcome technical limitations as well as cure playing-related injuries. The site was built on Expression Engine and includes various archiving functionality, registration for its annual conference, and a store for books, DVDs, and downloadable videos.

We're always down to watch entertaining videos online, especially the funny ones. Over time, we noticed that we returned to certain videos over and over again or found ourselves referencing them in our conversations. We eventually decided that it'd be nice to organize and share our favorites with everyone, so we put together the Barrel Video Canon, a (growing) collection of our favorite online video clips. You may have seen a good number of these videos, but there's no harm in watching them again.

As a gadget-loving crew, we're excited to be working on a website for PlugServer, a small device that acts as your own private server, allowing you to manage email accounts, hosting websites, and share files. We recently launched a simple one-page website that introduces the PlugServer. In the coming months, we'll be working on the UI of the PlugServer web app and also adding new features to the public website.
